What is SEO?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization that refers to the ranking your website gets by Google that depicts the quality and quantity of your content or site. Simply put, it is a process of increasing the quality and viability of your website by increasing the number of people who visit and view your site or say, bring traffic to your website.

Ever noticed, whenever you type your search in the search engine, a list of a variety of sites or topics appear, allowing you to choose your preferred one. This is done by rankings allotted by Google, which is known as Search Engine Optimization.  But why is it necessary? And what are the “ranking factors” upon which this optimization occurs? 

How does SEO work?

SEO works on the principle to provide you the best content available on the whole internet regarding your topic. But to collect traffic, you must bifurcate and divide the aspects upon which you might be willing to post an update.

If your content is more organic and traditional, then you must learn to use Google’s algorithm. On the other hand, if you prefer more video views, then you must use YouTube’s algorithm. Search Engines work on three processes that finally drives you to the result, namely:

  1. Crawling– Every journey starts with a search. Since you here require proper content or valuable information only to be given by your site, you must scour the internet looking over the content you need.
  2. Index – now after crawling, you need to store and organize the data that you found in the crawling process. Once the page is in the index, it is running to be displayed.
  3. Ranking – the end step concludes the search by providing you the most relevant sources or content for your search. The content on any search engine is ranked orderly by most relevant to the least relevant one.

What is the SERP ranking?

SERP stands for Search Engine Result Page, which is basically the ranking provided to your website by different search engines to tell you where do you stand in the wide market that offers a variety of content on the same topic.

Why is yours the ideal? To improve your ranking, you must improve the traffic to your site, and for that, you have to improve your search engine optimization resulting in improved visibility on the net.

In order to achieve this, you must use keywords and phrases that are most likely to be discovered and identified by the customers enabling the buy your idea. It is very important to improve your SERP ranking, always remember.

How to increase your SEO ranking?

Following the below-mentioned steps and inculcating just the right practices will ensure a high ranking to your website in the search engines. You need to produce quality content so that viewers are actually impressed by your thought and hit the search bar just to see you at the top.

With this, you need to do your keyword research. Choose just the right keywords and phrases that revolve around your content and allows the public to relate to your content as soon as the particular phrase appears on the search engine.
